Website Update

You can now find us on Facebook. Look for "DragonWerx Jewelry". Photos of new work are posted on a regular basis.

Mother's Day is coming up, are you ready? On Saturday, 13 May, we will be at the Eau Gallie Art & Antique Studio for their "Mother's Day Tea", 10am to 3pm. Go into the courtyard and at the far end is the door to the studio; I'll be in there with a table of fresh jewelry. Look for new colors in enamel earrings, and some special pendants.

Enamels classes are popular right now. It's a great way to add your own color to anything you make! Call now and reserve your class for enamels, silversmithing, or your own custom class.

The earrings on the left are a combination of two coincidences...student practice that resulted in melted-down jumprings, and my desire to use what was on my bench as the basis for family gifts. These celtic earrings are a hit - this pair was made for a birthday. Take a look at the gallery page for more recent items.

Classes - More details at this link

Interested in taking a class? Five basic classes are offered on a flexible schedule - silversmithing, the jeweler's saw, Viking weave, argentium silver fusing, and torch-fired enamels. Advanced classes are available as requested. Filigree, unsusual stone mounts and complex design are possibilities for people with well-developed soldering and jeweler's saw skills.

The schedule is flexible to accomodate *your* needs. Check your calendar, give us a call, and you can make a deposit on the class using your credit card. (Checks are accepted, but class date is not confirmed until the check clears; must clear at least a week before the class date.)

We are in the picturesque town of Grant-Valkaria, two miles west of US-1. The workshop is stocked with up-to-date tools, two jewelers benches, and two cats (well, they are in the house, not the workshop). Learn silversmithing, granulation, the jewelers saw, and torch-fired enamels. Here are some images of the workshop and class activities, on this page.

Getting ready to get your first torch? Get the tutorial on CD! -

I recommend the Smith acetylene/air torch with 2-gauge regulator kit, available from several jewelry supply businesses. I have created a manual with more than 50 detailed photos and explicit instructions, for how to assemble, light, and shutdown your torch. It is available now as a CD, sent USPS. Price is $25, which covers the media charge and the shipping.

Limited Edition Jewelry

See the bottom of the page for details on the pictured jewelry. More jewelry can be seen on my gallery page.

I am a consignment artist at the Art & Antique Studio, 1419 Highland Ave.; visit and see some of my work available for purchase. Jewelry items will be rotated on a monthly basis. This art jewelry is hand-made, not mass produced. I make limited numbers of any particular style; when they are gone, they are gone! So if you see something you like, don't wait, it may not be available next time you see me.

Friday, May 4, 2012, is the next Eau Gallie Arts District Art Walk. I'll be there, wearing some of my newest jewelry, and ready to show you my work that is on display there.

Check out the "How to Make..." pages; I post pictorial stories of how something was made.

Turquoise and pearl brooch

About the jewelry on this page: Orchids at the top are haircombs, made of (L to R): sterling silver, 18kt/sterling bimetal, copper. Top right sidebar is a photo of fused earrings with Argentium and sterling silver; no solder at all was used in making it. Next is a locket of Argentium, sterling silver, 24kt gold, set with a pink tourmaline. Below it is a pierced medallion, part-way through the process. Bottom photo is of a brooch set with a large turquoise and freshwater pearls.
